»Too Darn Hot«
Ein absoluter Klassiker der frühen Jahre, nämlich von Cole Porter, aus dem bekanntesten von ihm geschriebenen Musical »Kiss Me, Kate« von 1948. Mit nicht weniger als 1077 Aufführungen am Broadway eines der erfolgreichsten Musicals aller Zeiten. Eine großartige Melodie, 1956 von Ella Fitzgerald interpretiert, siehe oben.
Und wie bei vielen Cole Porter -Melodien immer aufs Neue und mit neuen Nuancen genutzt und aufgenommen, hier zum Beispiel im Jahr 2008 von der wunderbaren Fay Claassen
Der durchaus doppeldeutige Text verdient es, auch wiedergegeben zu werden:

Der Hinweis auf den Kinsey Report führte dann auch im Film »Kinsey« (2004) zu einem Zitat des Songs.
Und dann gibt es auch noch den Film »Kiss Me, Kate« (1953) mit Ann Miller – aber damit steht dann nicht mehr die Musik im Vordergrund, sondern eher der Tap-dance und die Show.
Immerhin aber ein gutes Beispiel, wie die Zeiten sich geändert haben….
