Beyond Words. Afro-Caribbean culture has embedded in its cultural heritage that music can only be deeply experienced by letting go of mental control, physical shyness and collective prejudice. And that is what makes the difference between one concert and another. This imprint is unmistakable in all of Ariel Bringuez's projects and performances. Bringuez is more than a virtuoso saxophonist, he has a personal and unique tone and phrasing and a fresh, philosophical and sophisticated compositional world. His easy-going, deep stage presence and ability to communicate with band and audience exceed all expectations. His diverse talents are reflected in the gratitude of the enthusiastic faces of the audience at each concert, as if the Yoruba heritage, the curandera heritage of Brínguez, embraces their souls in a joyful and renewing dance. Ariel Bringuez has ushered in a new era of Cuban saxophone.
