Chris Hopkins Jazz Kangoroos
George Washingmachine (violin, vocals), David Blenkhorn (guitar, vocals), Mark Elton (bass), Chris Hopkins (piano, saxophone)
Chris Hopkins, who was born in Princeton, New Jersey and lives in Bochum, has long been one of the most renowned musicians on the international jazz scene with his melodic, colorful style. He has recently won numerous awards such as the "Preis der Deutschen Schallplattenkritik", the "Prix de L'Académie du Jazz (Paris)" and the "Keeper of the Flame". For this extraordinary concert he presents with the "Jazz Kangaroos" an outrageously grooving trio of some of the best musicians from "Down Under" - first and foremost George Washingmachine, certainly the swingingest jazz violinist in the universe, at the same time disarmingly charismatic singer and entertainer, who immediately captivates every audience. Chris Hopkins & Friends play through their own compositions and the "Great American Songbook" from Gershwin to Ellington with relish and swing for all it's worth. Casually elegant, rousing, entertaining. An extraordinary international highlight! The new album "Chris Hopkins meets the Jazz Kangaroos -LIVE!" was awarded the *Couleurs Jazz Hit!* in Paris and has received numerous enthusiastic reviews from Götz Alsmann, Fono Forum, Crescendo to international trade journals.
