David Hazeltine Trio »Dedicated To The Giants Of Jazz«
David Hazeltine (piano), Aldo Zunino (bass), Bernd Reiter (drums)
Pianist David Hazeltine is an absolute top star of the New York scene. He began his professional career at the age of 13 in the Chicago area; as the house pianist at the Jazz Gallery in Milwaukee, he had the opportunity to accompany guest jazz musicians such as Sonny Stitt, Pepper Adams, Charles McPherson, Al Cohn, Lou Donaldson, Eddie Harris and Chet Baker. The latter convinced him to come to New York for the first time in 1981, and he moved to the Big Apple for good in 1992. He worked over the next few years with Curtis Fuller, Junior Cook, Jon Hendricks, Louis Hayes, Peter Washington, Joe Locke, Jon Faddis, James Moody, Jim Snidero, John Swana and the hardbop sextet One for All. On this tour he will be accompanied by one of the most renowned bass-drums duos in Europe. Aldo Zunino has been one of Europe's most booked bassists for more than three decades, working with Jimmy Cobb, Clark Terry, Benny Bailey, Benny Golson, Lee Konitz, Joey De Francesco, Scott Hamilton and many more. Austrian drummer Bernd Reiter has accompanied many jazz greats such as Don Menza, Charles Davis, Harold Mabern, Cyrus Chestnut, Kirk Lightsey, Jim Rotondi, Joe Magnarelli, Gary Smulyan and many more. This trio dedicates itself to the musical heritage of the great masters of jazz with great respect and esteem. Together the three musicians follow their musical passion, the classic, swinging jazz of their idols such as Cedar Walton, Steve Grossman or Freddie Hubbard. The project offers rousing energetic and swinging music on the highest level, performed with professionalism and enthusiasm, simply "Jazz at its Best"!
