Immanuel Wilkins Quartet
Immanuel Wilkins (saxophone), Micah Thomas (piano), Rick Rosato (bass), Kweku Sumbry (drums)
Alto saxophonist Immanuel Wilkins has what it takes to rank alongside the icons of jazz music. In his music, Wilkins by no means ventures onto pop-musical ice, but trusts in a concentrated and modest way in his own spirituality, which has been given to him since childhood. Without copying the role model, Wilkins evokes echoes of the great John Coltrane on "The 7th Hand."
