Johanna Summer Trio

Johanna Summer (piano), Tobias Fröhlich (bass), Jan-Einar Groh (drums)

Founded during their joint music studies, the trio is developing its very own, clearly structured sound. The balance between unpretentious and highly interactive and impulsive playing is in the foreground of this classic jazz line-up with Tobias Fröhlich (b) and Jan-Einar Groh (dr).

The pieces, mainly penned by Johanna Summer, never lose touch with the bandleader's musical homeland. Having grown up with classical music and always accompanied by established pop and rock music, she sees it as her duty to allow all these influences their rightful place in modern jazz music.

The pieces of the debut EP "Juvenile", which the ensemble presented in early 2018, were awarded the composition prize of the "Biberacher Jazzpreis" in the same year.
