Cole Porter (1891-1964) is among the most influential composers and lyricists of the Great American Song Book. With successful Broadway musicals such as 'Anything Goes', 'Gay Divorce' and 'Kiss me Kate', Cole Porter made a name for himself with the beginning of the 1930s. Songs like 'Night and Day', 'You'd be so nice to come home to', 'Anything goes' or 'Love for Sale' became classics of jazz literature and have been played countless times until today. Famous covers by Frank Sinatra, Louis Armstrong or Ella Fitzgerald are far better known today than the original versions. In the winter semester 2021/22, students of the HfK Bremen, under the direction of Markus Schieferdecker, have developed a program with pieces by Cole Porter and are now pleased to present it.
