»Whiskey Drinkin’ Woman«

She’s a whiskey drinkin’ woman

She drinks whiskey all the time

100 proof without a chaser

Yes, she’s a whiskey drinkin’ woman

She drinks whiskey all the time

Nothing but full roses she loves it she loves it

Yes, but I love that woman

Because she’s mine oh mine oh mine

Ow!

She drinks whiskey every morning

She drinks whiskey every night

She drinks whiskey when we lovin’

She drinks whiskey when we fight

She a whiskey drinkin’ woman

Drinks whiskey all the time.

Yes, but I love that woman

Because she’s mine oh mine oh mine

The day that we got married

She was all dressed in white

I told her when the preacher come

Keep that bottle out of sight.

But she’s a whiskey drinkin’ woman

Had to have that whiskey all the time

Yes, but I love that woman

Because she’s mine oh mine oh mine

She puts whiskey in her cornflakes

She puts whiskey in her beer

She can’t stand strong perfume

So she puts whiskey behind her ear

Yeah, she’s a whiskey drinkin’ woman

Drinks whiskey all the time

Yes, but I love that woman

Because she’s mine oh mine oh mine

She puts whiskey in her coffee

She puts whiskey in her tea She puts whiskey in her whiskey

And the puts the rest of it into me

Yeah, she’s a whiskey drinkin’ woman

She drinks whiskey all the time

Yes, but I love that woman

Because she’s mine oh mine oh mine.

Donaldson (alto sax & vocals); Herman Foster (piano); Jeff Fuller (bass); Fukushi Tainak (drums).

Und zum Abschluss ein Zitat von  Lou:

»Playing jazz without the blues is like cooking potatoes without salt. You have something, but it doesn’t have any flavour. The Blues are at the heart of everything I do. Even if I’ve added some Latin flavours – and I was the first to put in a conga player – it’s still the blues.«
