Jeremiah Chiu & Marta Sofia Honer

Jeremiah Chiu is a Los Angeles artist and musician originally from Chicago, working with the prestigious International Anthem Recording Co. of Chicago. In March 2022, the label released his duo album with Marta Sofia Honer called "Recordings from the Åland Islands". In Chicago, Chiu was an active member of the notoriously interconnected improvisational and experimental music scene. Chius bisheriger musikalischer Werdegang umfasste Arbeiten mit Icy Demons und Chandeliers sowie visuelle/ grafische Gestaltungsarbeiten unter dem Namen Some All None. In Los Angeles, he is an electronic music composer and sound artist, performing solo and with a variety of collaborators, including Celia Hollander, Booker Stardrum, Ben Babbitt, Dustin Wong, Takako Minekawa, and Sam Prekop. As a sound artist, Chiu creates site-specific pieces that interact with the environment and the audience. With "Smartphone Symphony," Chiu has created a random composition for the audience in which 12 audio/visual loops can be overlapped and controlled in an infinite number of ways by being controlled by individual smartphones. "A Piano Cannot Play a Sine Wave" is a graphic score for a player piano - a visual poem of drawn text and image on the piano roll - commissioned by the Getty Center as part of "Pianographs." In addition to Some All None, Chiu is an assistant professor at Otis College of Art & Design, an instructor at Art Center College of Design, and a resident DJ at Dublab. Chiu's work has been exhibited/performed at the Getty Center, LACMA, Cincinnati Contemporary Art Center, Chicago Cultural Center, and the Museum of Contemporary Art in Chicago, among others. Most recently, Chiu published his first book, "Ou(te)r Space: Course as Collective Manifesto," available through Slanted Publishers....
